Global Business Account Application Readiness Checklist: What to Prepare Before You Apply

Before applying for a global business account, prepare a readiness pack covering your entity documents, ownership and control information, expected transaction profile, and a clear view of which currencies and payment rails you actually need. Treat the checklist below as preparation only: the relevant financial institution provides and independently approves each account, and its opening documents determine account type, holder and terms. DogPay is a digital finance and payment infrastructure platform, not the financial institution that provides a business account. Businesses may apply online for a US-dollar business account and Hong Kong or Singapore multi-currency business account options. The checklist below helps you arrive prepared; it does not guarantee approval, and no account approval, payment acceptance, fee, exchange rate, speed, coverage or business outcome is guaranteed. Section 1: Entity and ownership file Assemble the corporate identity material first, because this is the foundation every later step depends on. Copy-ready rows: Legal entity name exactly as registered, plus any trading names. Registration number and jurisdiction of incorporation. Registered address and principal operating address. Certificate of incorporation or equivalent registration evidence. Current ownership structure, including intermediate holding entities. Directors, authorised signatories and beneficial owners, with role labels. Identity and address evidence for each of those individuals. Board resolution or mandate authorising the account opening and naming signatories. Completion check: every name on the ownership chart matches the identity documents, and the signatory list matches the mandate. If any document format, certification or translation requirement is unclear, confirm the exact list with the relevant financial institution before submitting. Section 2: Business substance and activity description Institutions assess what the business does, so write a short, factual activity statement rather than marketing copy. Copy-ready rows: What the business sells, in one or two plain sentences. Main customer segments and their typical locations. Main supplier and counterparty locations. Expected monthly inflow and outflow ranges, by currency. Expected number and average size of incoming payments. Website, and any public business profiles you want referenced. Explanation of any unusual or seasonal volume patterns. Completion check: the activity statement is consistent with the transaction profile you will declare, and you can explain any large or irregular flows in advance. Section 3: Currency and payment-rail requirements Decide what you need before you apply, because availability depends on the institution, account, product and jurisdiction. Copy-ready rows: Currencies you must receive in, ranked by volume. Currencies you must pay out in, ranked by volume. Whether USD transfers are expected and, if so, which rails you anticipate needing. Whether you expect to hold balances or convert between currencies. Whether you need transaction records, reconciliation and reporting outputs. Whether any stablecoin conversion or settlement is relevant to your operations. USD transfers may use ACH, SWIFT or Fedwire only where the relevant account and service arrangement support them. USD and supported stablecoin conversion or settlement and crypto payment gateway services are provided by DogPay affiliates to eligible customers, subject to provider terms, applicable law and geographical availability. Completion check: you have written down which requirements are must-haves versus nice-to-haves, so you can compare what is actually offered. Section 4: Compliance and controls readiness Prepare the control narrative alongside the documents. Copy-ready rows: Named owner for account administration and user access. Approval workflow for outbound payments. Record-keeping approach for transaction records and reconciliation. Internal policy on who can change signatories or bank details. Contact point for institution queries and periodic reviews. Completion check: each control has one accountable person, and the workflow can be described in a few sentences without gaps. Section 5: Submission and post-approval checks Submit through the official application route and keep a copy of everything sent. After approval, available account features may include international collections, cross-border payments, currency management, transaction records, reconciliation and reporting, but actual currencies, payment rails and functions depend on the institution, account, product and jurisdiction. Completion check: you have read the opening documents, confirmed the account type, holder and terms, and verified which features are enabled on your specific account.
