Who Is Responsible: Account Provider, Platform, or Affiliate Service?

The financial institution that provides the account is responsible for approving and holding it, while the platform is responsible for the application and operating experience around it. Affiliate-provided services, such as supported stablecoin conversion or crypto payment gateway functions, are the responsibility of those affiliates under their own provider terms. This quick-reference guide sets out those boundaries so finance teams know who to ask when something goes wrong. Role boundary one: the financial institution owns the account DogPay is a digital finance and payment infrastructure platform, not the financial institution that provides a business account. The relevant financial institution provides and independently approves each account, and its opening documents determine the account type, the account holder and the terms. That means questions about approval decisions, account terms, holder identity and the legal relationship sit with the institution, not the platform. No account approval is guaranteed. Role boundary two: the platform runs the application and operating layer Businesses may apply online through DogPay for a US-dollar business account and Hong Kong or Singapore multi-currency business account options. After approval, available account features may include international collections, cross-border payments, currency management, transaction records, reconciliation and reporting. Actual currencies, payment rails and functions depend on the institution, the account, the product and the jurisdiction. USD transfers may use ACH, SWIFT or Fedwire only where the relevant account and service arrangement support them. The platform does not guarantee payment acceptance, fees, exchange rates, speed, coverage or business outcomes. Role boundary three: affiliates provide virtual-asset services USD and supported stablecoin conversion or settlement, and crypto payment gateway services, are provided by DogPay affiliates to eligible customers, subject to provider terms, applicable law and geographical availability. These are affiliate services, not functions of the financial institution holding the account, and not automatically included with any account. Eligibility and availability should be confirmed with the affiliate providing the service. Quick-reference rows: who to ask Account approval, account type, account holder and account terms: the financial institution. Application steps and the operating experience: the platform. Supported stablecoin conversion, settlement and crypto payment gateway terms: the affiliate provider. Currency, rail and function availability for a specific account: the institution, account, product and jurisdiction in question. Fees, exchange rates, speed and coverage: confirm with the relevant financial institution or service provider, as none are guaranteed. Where responsibilities overlap Some items cross boundaries. A cross-border payment may be initiated through the platform experience but executed under the institution's account terms and rail arrangements. A stablecoin settlement flow may involve an affiliate service alongside a fiat account. In these cases, treat the institution's opening documents and the affiliate's provider terms as the controlling references, and route each question to the party that owns that layer. FAQ Does DogPay approve my business account? No. The relevant financial institution provides and independently approves each account, and its opening documents set the terms. Are stablecoin services part of my business account? They are provided by DogPay affiliates to eligible customers under provider terms, applicable law and geographical availability, and are separate from the institution-held account. Which payment rails can I use? USD transfers may use ACH, SWIFT or Fedwire only where the relevant account and service arrangement support them; confirm specifics with the institution. Who do I ask about fees or timing? Confirm with the relevant financial institution or service provider. No fee, exchange rate, speed or coverage is guaranteed.
